A bit of History
The Good Humor man ice cream truck is an iconic American symbol of summer, originating in the 1920s with white-uniformed drivers ringing bells to sell frozen novelties. Known for classic treats like Strawberry Shortcake bars, the fleet popularized street vending, though today Good Humor products are mostly sold in stores. Founded in Youngstown, Ohio, in the early 1920s, the company revolutionized ice cream distribution with direct-to-consumer truck sales. Good Humor men wore white uniforms, including caps, and rang bells to announce their arrival, a staple of American neighborhoods.Good Humor was not the only player in the ice cream truck industry, as Mister Softee emerged as a significant competitor in the 1950s.
