A Golden Story Book Collection

I discovered this little collection while searching Santis and thought it was time to revive it. Not to be confused with the popular known LITTLE Golden Book collection. These were larger books measuring 7 1/8” by 5 1/8” by 3/8” thick and 128 pages each. Designed and produced by the Sandpiper Press and Artists and Writer's Guild, Inc. Published by Simon and Schuster, Inc., N.Y. 1949/1950.

Here is a beautiful new series of picture story books for children in the popular pocket size and at an amazingly low price. Nearly all of the 128 pages are illustrated with gay full-color pictures made by an outstanding artist. Many of the books contain entirely new and original stories, while others contain the old favorites that children love to read over and over again.

Golden Story Library: A Treasury of Children's Stories includes 20 books: Herbert's Zoo, Magic Wish, Christopher Bunny, Boss of the Barnyard, Stagecoach Robbery, Train Stories, Mystery in Disneyville, Circus Stories, Penny Puppy, Bugs Bunny Treasure Hunt, Tom and Jerry, So Dear to My Heart, Chatterly Squirrel, Horse Stories, Merry Piper, The Cat Who Went to Sea, Gene Autry Red Shirt, Donald Duck's Hidden Gold, Magic Pot, and Christmas Book.
