My First Go Fish Card Game

48 Jumbo Cards (approx. 6"x4") illustrated with your favorite Little Golden Book characters
60th Anniversary Tin, one bent edge (see picture)
For 2 or more players, ages 3-6
OBJECT OF THE GAME: Try to get the most sets of four matching cards.
GETTING READY TO PLAY: Show the cards to all players. Have fun naming the characters on each card. Shuffle the deck well. Deal five cards to each player and scatter the rest face down, like fish in a pond, on the table. (This does not have to be a neat stack. It's fun when the players can choose from any face down card, not just the top one.)
Hold your cards in a fan and look at them. If you have a set of four in the dealt hand, put the set face up next to you on the table. Choose who will be the first player.
PLAYING THE GAME: On your turn, ask one of the other players for a card that you are holding. When you have a set of four put them down face up next to you on the table.
Example: "Tracey, do you have a puppy?" Tracey gives you every puppy card, if any, that she is holding. If you get enough for a set of four, put the set down and go again. If Tracey does not have a puppy she says, "No, Go Fish." Draw a card from the middle and put it in your hand. If the card you draw is the one you asked for, go again.

In the box: Game board, 6 Golden character tokens, 4 plastic bases, 24 circle of friends cards, spinner
- Spin the spinner and move your Golden Book Token clockwise around the spiraling gameboard. Each time you land on a Saggy Baggy Elephant FACE Square, turn over a card from the stack. If you turn over a Saggy Baggy Elephant card, move forward on the game board to the next Saggy Baggy Elephant Square and turn over another card. If the card you turn over is not Saggy, move forward to the nearest square that matches that character card. Your turn is over. If you land on a BIG Saggy Baggy Elephant and his trunk points to another square, follow his trunk (up or down) to that square.
The first player to reach the CIRCLE OF FRIENDS, land on the Final Saggy Baggy Elephant FACE Square and turn over a matching Elephant card, enters the Circle and wins the game.
