"Good Morning Good Night Book" eBook

The once-upon-a-time-like startings, and the let's pretend events, appeal strongly to imaginative children -- if only things could be like that, for them. But the moral of both stories is clear, and natural. Jane Werner is a superb, direct story-teller.
Eloise Wilkin, in her early style, is perfect for doll-faced children, family members, pets and toys, in a richly realised New England home.

Synopsis:
"Good Morning"
There was once a little boy who, strange as it may seem, did not like to get up in the morning -- imagine that! Everyday his mother had to call him and call him to wake him and each day it was harder than it had been the day before. At last one morning he just would not wake up at all!

And this is where the story REALLY begins.
He can NOT be woken by his mother, or his father: not by his brother and sister: not by the little kitten or the boy's puppy who licked his sleepy face. Nor by the screeching parrot from next door. Not even by the black panther from the zoo who "came and snarled most horribly at him". Nor a lion, whose great, tremendous roar shook the walls. But ... when the family has given up, and gone down to breakfast, something unexpected happens that DOES wake the little boy -- who is VERY hungry!

"Good Night"
There was once a little girl who, strange as it may seem, did not like to go to bed -- imagine that! And so the parallel, but reverse story begins. One night the little girl's mother lets her stay up. The little girl is pleased: she will play with her dolls house. But the dolls had been playing all day and now they are all fast asleep.

And so it goes ... until the little girl decides to go looking for her sleepy doll. She had been sleepy all day, so ow she must be wide-awake and ready to play ... but there is a surprise at the end.
