THE GOLDEN CALENDAR 1956

Back Cover reads as: This Golden Calendar is a brand-new way to march along with the seasons. It can be a happy guide to a whole great big golden year for you. It is fun which you can share with your family, too, or your playmates at school.

1. For each month, there is a special gay big picture. The picture shows animals doing something which belongs to that month. In February, Postman Squirrel is bringing valentines. In August, the animals are having a picnic. What might be happening in the picture for November?

2. The calendar shows the flower and the birthstone for each month. Which flower and birthstone are yours?

3. Famous birthdays, high days and holidays, are shown. When you see a birthday or a holiday on your calendar, you can find out some of the interesting things about it.

4. For every day, there is a little picture on the calendar, or a saying. Let someone else look at the picture or read the saying with you. If it's a song, which of you can sing it? If it's a puzzle, which of you can guess it first? Or maybe it's something to look for out of doors, or a game you can play.

5. There is also a short poem about every month. You may even want to learn some of these poems by heart.

The Golden Calendar can show you lots of new things to watch for and to do. It can give you a new idea for every day in the year.
